Stereolab are an Anglo-French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990, and led by the songwriting team of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier.
Hailed as one of ‘the decade’s most innovative British bands’ by Mark Jenkins in 1998, Stereolab’s music combines a droning rock sound with lounge instrumentals, overlaid with sing-song female vocals and pop melodies, and has also made use of unorthodox time signatures.
